1- Sunday: Accra
- Tamale

Morning:
Early departure to airport for Ghana Airways flight to Tamale,
arriving in Tamale in the Northern Region late morning.
Transfer to hotel with lunch in town.
ø
Afternoon:
City Tour of Tamale including the Tannery and
leathersmiths, and the Round House style of architecture
typical of the north.
ø
Dinner
and overnight in Tamale.
Day
2 - Monday: Tamale
- Bolgatanga
ø
Morning:
Drive north into the Upper Eastern Region to the town of
Bolgatanga, arriving early afternoon. Transfer to
hotel with lunch in town.
ø
Afternoon:
Visit the craft market to examine the variety of woven
basket crafts unique to the region. Excursion to view
the Whistling Rocks of Tonga which emit ghostly
sounds when the Harmattan winds are blowing.
ø
Dinner
and overnight in Bolgatanga.
Day
3 - Tuesday: Sirigu
- Kayoro -Navrongo - Paga
ø
Morning:
Drive north to the scenic village of Sirigu to
view the abstract geometrical designs on the Painted
Houses typical of the region.
ø
Noon:
Drive to Kayoro for a Picnic Lunch on the serene
artificial lake created by the Kayoro Rice Irrigation
Project.
ø
Afternoon:
Visit the Catholic Church at Navrongo, famous for it's unusual
paintings on the interior columns.
ø
Late
Afternoon: A visit to Paga on the border
of Burkina Faso to see the sacred crocodiles of Paga
Pond. Return drive to Bolgatanga.
ø
Dinner
and overnight in Bolgatanga.
Day
4 - Wednesday: Bolgatanga
- Tamale - Mole
ø
Morning:
Visit the Bolgatanga market and brief tour of the
town before making the return drive to Tamale.
Lunch in Tamale.
ø
Afternoon:
Drive on to Mole National Park, stopping at the
park entrance to visit the 13th Century Mosque - an
example of Sudanese mud style architecture typical of
the sub-Sahara. Transfer to Mole Park Lodge and
go on late afternoon Game Drive.
ø
Dinner
and overnight at Mole Park.
Day
5 - Thursday: Mole
Park
ø
All
day in the park with early morning and late afternoon
Game Drives. The park is home to small herds of
elephants, several species of antelope, varieties of
monkeys and baboons, hippos, numerous species of birds
and a small population of leopards and lions.
ø
Dinner
and overnight at the Mole Park Lodge.
Day
6 - Friday: Mole
- Larabanga - Wa
ø
Morning:
A final Game Drive before leaving the park for the drive
onward to Wa in the Upper Western Region,
stopping en route to sample "pitou", the local
beer made from fermented millet. Arrive at Wa early
afternoon and transfer to hotel. Lunch in the town.
ø
Afternoon:
Visit to the Palace of the Wa Naa, the Paramount Chief
of Wa and audience with the chief.
ø
Dinner
and overnight in Wa.
Day
7 - Saturday: Wa
- Accra
ø
Morning:
Return flight to Accra. Transfer to day hotel and
the balance of the day at leisure. Additional shopping
at the Artisan's Craft Workshops in the Cultural Center
or afternoon at Labadi Beach.
ø
Dinner
at the hotel, followed by 10:00 PM departure for the
airport to board the return flight at 00:59 to New
York City, arriving in New York on the following
morning.
